Yes, this just had to happen ;)

As announced, late upload today. For future pages I'll go for a similar time, or even later.

In the European timezones that means uploads sometimes after midnight and therefore very early on Wednesdays instead of on Tuesdays.

Yes, I try to avoid those incorrect anatomy-cliches, such as the one big cartoony dog bone xD

Now *that* could make a nice comic series-

"Five Fingers & Footsie"
"Five Fingers & Footsie - on new adventures"
"Five Fingers & Footsie - in the city"
"Five Fingers & Footsie - are going abroad"
"Five Fingers & Footsie - chased by baddies"

Is that Commander Conner from the Security Defence Department with the electric rifle? Are we going to hear a rant about how he was passed over for promotion too many times, or is he just going to start killing everyone??

Alph has been a serious liability so far. Perhaps the Groolars are being a bit hasty in rounding him up...

Ferros: There's gonna be secret exits all around this bunker, Great Leader. We wanna catch Alph if he tries to make a break for it.

Groolar captain: Heh, the dumb shit led us right here! *grin* Maybe we should let him go so he'll give us the rest of the Kordinar underground!

Kobolt: You could be right. *stops, stares at ground* Everybody hide. *widens her stance, legs apart*

Hidden trapdoor: *opens between Kobolt's legs*

Alph: *sticks head out of trapdoor, cranes necks to see around Kobolt's legs* O-kay... looks clear. Nobody said anything about these strange black tree trunks... they both look like they have heels and calves and knees and- *looks up at Kobolt*

Kobolt: *glares down at Alph* Do I know you?

Alph: Nnnnnnno......?

Kobolt: I am looking for a hidden underground bunker that is supposed to be around here. Do you know where it is?

Alph: S-s-s-sssorry! *shrug*

Kobolt: Fine. Get lost then.

Alph: 'K-kay... *scrambles clear of trapdoor, runs into undergrowth*

Kobolt: ......*pffffFFFFF* BWAAAAAAHAHAHAHAAAA! You can't buy comedy like that! Or extort it or demand it at swordpoint! Not reliably, anyway. We're definitely letting him go! You two, track him, get surveillance drones on him, and make sure the footage gets downloaded for me to enjoy. Copy it to the intelligence people too. And... while you're about it, see that some things are left out for him to find: a large overcoat, a hat with a wide brim, dark glasses, a fake beard... and get some grenades made up, that just make a small explosion and a lot of soot, so that everything nearby just ends up dishevelled and blackened. It might even be worth broadcasting...

Ferros: *steps from hiding* Er, Great Leader... *points at trapdoor* haven't we a massacre to get to?

Kobolt: Yes. *jumps down through open trapdoor* Let's get this over with. I saw in his mind some important intel: the identity of-

Later, back at the HQ...

Kobolt: -the best person to find Alph Colla Borsoi Weller for me. That's you. You knew him best. You know all his haunts and friends. I can see your loyalty and enthusiasm. You will be the first among your civilians to join my forces properly. Here is your uniform and captain's badge, you are now head of the Alph Colla Borsoi Weller capture force. I know you won't fail me. The planet is ours already, so you can take your time. I have also allocated you these surveillance drones to assist you, and document your efforts. And, in accordance with Groolar practice, and considering the habits of your quarry, partying on the job is positively encouraged. Now go and get him, clown- I mean, Captain Heyes.

Isty: Oh WOW!!! Yes, Great Leader! *salutes* I won't let you down! *exits, pursued by surveillance drones* Coming, Alph, ready or not!!

Kobolt: Hilarious. *strides over to Groolar watching a screen* You have seen all the surveillance footage so far? *mind read* BWAAAAHAHAHAHAAAAA! Yes, we have enough material for a half hour show already. We can broadcast it in the slot after the executions. To the editing suite! And "Coming, Alph, ready or not," might make a good tag line...

Hahaha that's right, that's him. Yes, you can trust me, there *will* be ranting at some point. Perhaps not quite as you expect, but still ;D

"Tree trunks" xD

I really really hope they have a better escape route than that........

Well, good thing they're still just at the "hunt and release" stage then. Or, no, better not count on that :-/

Yeah, people are very good at telling stuff at sword point. Or, very good at thinking about certain stuff when they're trying to not think about that stuff. But yeah, in the long run those methods may get ..."old"? We need something more sophisticated now, with all the surprise twists and lols! And cartoonish stuff, so that the kids can have their laughs too! Or, is it rather "old but still gold"? Nothing beats good ol' sword point! Who knows.

"Captain Heyes" would do a rather lousy job. But that's probably the point.. o.O

"Alph, not really ready. Not today and not tomorrow either" D:

In line with the comment I made last page, it seems the lesson learned cost an arm and a leg... sorry I couldn't not make a pun.

Cool page as always

Yes, they weren't just pulling his leg when they said the commpad stunt could get them into trouble, indeed things may totally get out of hand now.

Thanks :))
