He's got a tough road ahead if he is failing the minimum knowledge class.
Moviedome movies sound cool!
Like that first panel with all of the things going on.

Yeah, it's either pulling himself seriously together, or McKordinald's the rest of his life D:

In any case, he could need the movie dome now. and beer. and lisa and sam.

That wonderful talk, all those pictures, including animations, he even managed to grab the attention of some of the students. And then this...

Oh yes :D

It was inspired by a cloud I once saw in real. We were out for a walk, spouse and I, when he suddenly pointed and said - Look at that one, it's like an elephant, it blows away the other clouds with its trunk, like pppfffffrrrrrtttt

They were a lot of work, so great to hear that they also worked out.

Yeah, his comments on some of those worlds looked cartoonish... but his teacher didn't do any better. "What about trade blah blah blah".

If we're getting into philosophical studies of various systems, and if we're going to see a character do badly at describing them - then the teacher should explain WHY the character failed.

"Flipside" did perhaps best at outlining Ayn Rand World, showing how it sucked for its poor citizens, and then explaining how its leaders justify the system. I would give an honourable mention to "Quantum Vibe", more sympathetic to libertarianism.

It would be interesting to read a Flipside-ish study on the pros and cons of Heinlein World. But then, I'm new here; that might happen later.

Alph's way of seeing things is what happens when visiting internet joke sites rather than serious newspapers (though with the latter we're not entirely safe either.. ).

Yes, the teacher's comments aren't really that helpful, she went for the "if you paid attention during my talks you'd be able to figure out the substance behind the 'blah blah blah' yourself"-message, the "your talk is lacking detail" feedback considered a good enough explanation why he failed.

There will be more about Walderon later on, perhaps even as an own separate comic, allowing for more detail on their world and background. For now, in general, it's great to be a citizen, while it sucks to be a non-citizen. Can a non-citizen become a citizen? Perhaps. But there are many conditions which must be met, including race as well as "neuro-type", where the very most may fail already in the initial rounds of testing and selection. Too much diversity would "water out what makes us strong"...

Will check out Flipside and Quantum Vibe, I haven't read them but it sounds interesting.
